I was craving a nice cold chocolate Frosty the other day and was sad because I know the one at Wendy’s is not vegan. So I decided to look up a recipe for chocolate frosty on Pinterest. A lot of them are not only watery but are packed with processed sugar! I wanted to create a healthy version of this sweet shake that I can have any time I am craving a chocolatey treat.
This drink is perfect for morning breakfast, post-workout smoothie, afternoon dessert or even a meal. This frosty will cure your sugar craving, and keep you nice and full because of the healthy fats it contains.
Not only will it keep you full, but it also has the added benefit of proteins, vitamins, and hormone boosting ingredients. If you haven’t read my Ways To Use Maca Post, you definitely should learn more about this healthy food.
This frosty is thick, creamy, chocolatey, smooth, and perfect for summertime. The ingredients are all organic and healthy making it perfectly guilt-free 😀 There are only natural sugars in this shake from the banana. You can easily modify this recipe to suit your needs, tastes, and wants. Feel free to omit some of the ingredients too and let others know how it worked for you in the comments.
I love this Creamy Shake and drink it all. The. Time.
Please share to spread some vegan frosty love and bless other dairy-free lovers!
Let’s get into making this delicious frosty!!
But first…
Let’s get you prepared for things you may need 😉
Vitamix blender This is essential for the creamiest frosty ever Hemp seeds If you don’t add these, it will not taste like a frosty! I have tried it without it and it does NOT taste as good or the same.
Protein powder This is the most important part of the frosty. I use Orgain Plant-Based Chocolate Protein Powder as it is the best tasting and taste the most like a frosty. Especially when combined with real Cacao powder for extra chocolate flavor
Best tasting: Orgain Chocolate Protein Powder (My fave)
Least ingredients & tasty!: Owyn Protein
Quick Nutrient Breakdown:
I entered all of these ingredients into fitness pal so it may not be completely accurate. For the breakdown, I used peanut butter vs almond butter because I like the taste the peanut butter gives the frosty (you DO NOT taste the peanut butter!) This could also be considered a 2 serving frosty as well if you do not want to drink the whole thing (this is basically a meal, seriously you won’t be hungry at all for anything)
Total Calories: 425
Fat: 14.9
Carbs: 53
Protein: 29.8
You can modify the amounts in any of the ingredients to your dietary needs. The carbs and sugar are coming from the banana(carbs: 30 g)! And the fat content is only made up of 7.8 g of Saturated fat. There is about 13.3 g of dietary fiber too, making it optimum for your daily fiber.
Sorry to get sciency! I just want to make it clear that this is a nutrient-dense shake and has lots of vitamins and minerals added, you can download the recipe into fitness pal to get an accurate reading of all vitamins, and minerals if you please.
